FEATURED HERD OF THE MONTHBeverly HerdThe Beverly Herd has been recently in the news due to a drastic decline in herd numbers based on failed attempts to count the herd in 2007 and 2008. The Beverly Herd was last counted in 1994 when 276,000 animals were estimated. Few cows are presently on the calving grounds and an estimate of less than 10,000 animals is currently being quoted.
