The Voices project is a video-based effort to document knowledge of the caribou people about change. The aim of the project is to collect Voices of the Indigenous Peoples of the North who traditionally have a close relationship with caribou (called wild reindeer in Eurasia) and communicate those voices to other communities, scientists and the general public. The project is conducted as part of the International Polar Year (2007-2009) CARMA research on caribou and people. 
What are the Objectives? 
Today's uncertainties of changing climate, socio-economics and land-use make it critical to document community knowledge about people's relationship with caribou and their observations and understanding about social-ecological changes. The main objective of the Voices project is to gather knowledge from caribou people in the form of short videos and share them among caribou users, scientists, policy makers and the public.  Voices will address the following questions: 

• What is your community's relationship with caribou?
• What about that relationship is changing and why?
• How is it affecting you?
• How is your community coping with these changes?
